As a teacher, I plan to use data collection surveys as a check in with the students. A few times a semester, I would send out a google survey to check how my students are feeling. These questions would relate to class material as well as how they're doing personally. There would be an option to make the submission anonymous or share their name. I honestly think this is important for every subject and grade level, but I want to teach high school English so I would relate it to the course.  From looking at the classroom blogs, I enjoyed seeing everyone's assignments, such as the website design and the newsletter. It was fun seeing how creative everyone was. These were helpful to see as I got a lot of ideas from them. I think it was a good idea to allow students to interact with different blogs and learn from them.  I got the tech flex badge for having a teacher bio on my blog. Funny enough, I didn't write this bio for this class. I also use blogger for a professional portfol

I like the distance learning experience even though there are both pros and cons. I enjoy the fact that it gives me more time to do other things since I don't have an actual class to go to. I currently am interning and working part-time and my schedule is much more open because of this. It does make personal accountability more important however, since you have to be checking canvas thoroughly to make sure you get everything done. I had to do my entire participation portfolio in one night because I didn't see the due dates on canvas and forgot about it. I think to improve the experience of distance learners, in my class I would post video announcement rather than written ones- students are much less likely to skip over things this way.  Open educational resources are great tools for teachers to find everything they need for their lessons. This includes blog posts, lesson plans, and activity examples. I found a lesson plan titled "3rd Grade Animal Research" that would

The web design assignment helped me recognize the things I would value as a teacher, specifically the wellbeing of my students especially and the details that go behind it. The physical environment you're in plays a major role in how you're feeling, so small things like color scheme and motivational posters can play a big role. Even the layout of the classroom can impact the way students learn and how they feel about learning. https://afeelforeducation.weebly.com  Diigo is a well developed resource for student learning and comprehension. It allows students to be creative, collaborate and use critical thinking by looking through the different resources and finding their own resources. I would absolutely use Diigo in my classroom. I think it could be a fun for big assignments or even small assignments or bell ringers. For example, students could be assigned to find an article that fits a prompt by the beginning of a class- at the start of class, the students would participate in

I chose to observe a few class pages on Leon High School's website. Under the teacher directory, I selected Michael Green, who teaches Chemistry 1 and AP Chemistry. There are tabs under each class that show important documents, such as the syllabus and lab report guides. There are also tabs that introduce him, and list assignments. These pages look very helpful to both enrolled and interested students. Since the pages are public, a student can look at them to see if they like the curriculum.  https://www.leonschools.net/Page/35014  To increase productivity, I like to use tools offline to eliminate distractions- this is why I prefer Microsoft to Google. I also like to use a paper calendar and notebooks for this reason. I think there are a lot of online resources but I have always loved the simplicity of paper + pen. I process information better by physically writing things out, which I will also emphasize to my students. I also really love planners as a resource to refer to througho

I think Diigo is an awesome tool to use in a classroom. It would probably be most beneficial for 6th-12th grade students, but 4th and 5th grade could benefit from it as well. I think annotating is one of the most useful learning skills. In my experience, I process what I'm reading best when I'm taking notes. I haven't used Diigo enough to have any issues with it; it's easy to use and great for learning.  So far, I've enjoyed the blogging process. I enjoy writing and it's one of my preferred ways to apply what I've learned. The only critique I have with the blogging in this class is I don't really feel like I'm blogging- I just feel like I'm answering questions. I think if there was more creativity I would enjoy it more. However, I do enjoy using the google blogs. I think it's an effective website to create a put together blog. I think TikTok could be a great platform to use in a high school classroom with the right resources. If not every stu

The LAFS.1112.WHST 11&12 grade standard is focused on digital research with search engines and databases, as well as maintaining academic integrity through proper citations. I believe I'm prepared to teach this standard because I'm experienced with the research and citation process. I know the types of plagiarism and how to avoid them, and would be able to communicate this with my students.  I would choose one of the video resources. In the 9-12 grade social science section, there is one that covers the beginning of the civil war. It's best for students to learn in a variety of ways, including visually. I would try this to see how engaged they are, because if they're unengaged then it would have no benefit, and then decide if I want to implement more of the videos in my classroom.  It's important to know how to internet search in order to find the best resources to implement in a classroom. A teacher shouldn't settle on mediocre resources and want their stu

I think it's important to educate students on copyright and fair use; however, if a student broke any rules, I would likely be lenient and take minimal points off. I never learned a lot about these subjects, so I think it puts me at a disadvantage for the future. Therefore, I would not be doing right by my students by not putting it in the curriculum. I would probably create an assignment that allows students to use copyright practices, and ask them to use the practices throughout the school year.   If an issue came up where a student plagiarized an assignment and it was the first time, I would have a conversation with the student to see why they chose to plagiarize, rather than punishing them. If they ever chose to be academically dishonest again, however, I would give them a zero for the assignment. To prevent cyberbullying, I think a teacher should be extremely honest that it is unacceptable. By enforcing a strict punishment (such as a failing grade if a student was caught), th
